Holier than thou? Think again!

Do you want to know what really chaps my hide? People who exude a "holier than thou" aura...

I decided to see if the scriptures say anything about people with the aforementioned attitude. I came to Isaiah 65. The beginning of this chapter basically paints The Lord as rebuking people who believe they are "holier than thou." These "holier than thou" people have the nerve to tell others they aren't sacred enough to be in close proximity to them, yet they are clearly sinners themselves! Some people think they're more God-like than others and are therefore 'better' than them. As a result, they only spend time with people perceived as holy. They won't be caught dead with those 'other people.' Well, you want to know what I think about that?? Jesus spent time with prostitutes, tax collectors, and other publicly corrupt people. They were 'worthy' of being in His presence. If these sinners weren't too sinful to be in Jesus's presence, then they surely weren't too sinful to be in any human's presence. This only leads to one conclusion: absolutely no one can be "holier than thou"! Because He lived a sinless life, not even Jesus had such an attitude...
